Trading Advice
Inside the Galactic Empire's Ministry of Industry is a plethora of Corporations with the purpose of providing goods and services for the Empire's citizens. Imperial Citizens are encouraged to buy from the Ministry's corporations in order to protect them from falling foul of the Imperial law on restricted technologies, and from becoming victims of crime to some of the Galaxies more unsavory characters. You can also be guaranteed that Ministry of Industry products will be at the cutting edge of technology, at the most competitive price.

Trading with Non-Imperial Entities (NIEs)
For safe trading with friendly and neutral Entities, Imperial Citizens should be particularly careful. The Galactic Empire endeavors to prevent petty crime, however it recommends that all citizens follow these essential safe trading practices.
1. Check Trader's Status
Traders with good trading history probably won't scam you for small sums of credits. There are lists of known NIE's with a poor trading record, so that you can check a trader before finishing the deal. Spending just a few minutes can save you from losing hard-earned credits. It should be noted, these are not official lists made by the Galactic Empire.
2. Don't Send Credits First
You should do this only when trading with known middles or trusted traders and even doing that there is chance of being robbed.
3. Insist on Using a Middle
If the honesty of a trading party is in doubt, then it is recommended that a middleman be employed, especially if the other party refuses to send first. This should give you good reason to doubt their intentions.
4. Location, Location, Location
While doing trades, you should always be careful to check that the entities you want to buy aren't docked inside a ship / station without access or on a planets surface under shields.
The Trading Blacklist
The Galactic Empire puts great effort into creating a list of known criminals, pirates, and rebels. Below is a link to the official list created by COMPNOR officials. The Empire's trade regulations and policy have been developed over the course of many years, and these regulations are designed to protect Imperial personnel from theft, or inadvertently aiding the enemy. Imperial Citizens are reminded that it breaches article 1.4.1 of the Imperial Criminal Code to trade with any person who is on the Trading Blacklist.
Trading on the Centrepoint Marketplace
The Galactic Empire recognises that the Centrepoint Marketplace (CPM) is the leading market organisation in the galaxy. To this end, Imperial citizens will not be held accountable if goods they have listed on the Marketplace are purchased by non-Imperial Entities which feature on the Trading Blacklist. This extenuating circumstance only applies where the Imperial citizen is the seller and only on the CPM. However, purchasing goods on the CPM still falls under the full jurisdiction of the Trading Blacklist; if the factional affiliation of a merchant cannot be directly identified, and thus their standing on the Blacklist remains unknown, then it is recommended that Imperial citizens contact Imperial Intelligence for the identification of the merchant. The Imperial may then proceed with the transaction if II safely declares the merchant in question to not be affiliated with organisations on the Blacklist. If they still cannot be identified, then they are to be treated as neutral, and the transaction may still proceed.
